Wild Scotland over the airwaves!

Thursday, November 27th, 2008

Wildlife has come roaring back to Hot Tin Roof this week with a big push for Wild Scotland to mark its annual conference in Battleby, nr Perth.

This year’s theme is ‘Wildlife Tourism: Bucking the Trend’ and you can read more about the programme here.

Eagle-eared listeners of Talk107 yesterday at noon would have heard Caroline Warburton, Manager of Wild Scotland, have a good old chatter with presenter Chris Kane about all things wildlife.

Then today we were giddy with joy to hear Caroline on BBC Radio Scotland ‘Highlands and Islands news’.

We thought she was marvelous and through the wonders of modern technology you can hear Caroline’s snippet from today below:

Movember charity fun :: Update!

Tuesday, November 25th, 2008

25 days in and we check back with our man Chris on his attempts to grow a full blown tash in November, all in good name of charity.

This is the longest Chris has left any part of his face unexposed to the blade of the razor and it has been a long, confusing and surprisingly unitchy journey.

One thing’s for sure; it’s not the best looking one ever is it? It’s clearly rather muddled. Not sure whether he should be black or blonde, while the centre is parting a la Moses and the red sea.

Chris said: “People have often said Joseph Fiennes would play me in a movie of my life. With this tash I actually do resemble him! Despite this, expect a December 1st shave.”

Clearly there is a yearning to see the tash growth in all it’s glory. A few warnings before you gaze upon the following snaps:

1. Chris had a haircut – the growing of a tash did not cause his hair to shorten.
2. Chris doesn’t wear the same clothes every day.
3. Chris does sleep.

Hot Tin Roof joins ‘Movember’

Tuesday, November 4th, 2008

After the success of the Spencerfield sponsored, Whisky picnic and the amazing display of moustaches, our man Chris has decided to do the noble thing and join in the “Movember” movement.

He will be growing a moustache for the entire month of November to raise awareness of men’s health issues and money for The Prostate Cancer Charity.

Having never gone over a week without shaving, this is sure to be an itchy, uncomfortable and slightly embarrassing experience for Chris, but he is committed to the cause and will kindly keep everyone updated with a segment we could call “Upper Lip Watch” or “Tash Update”…you get the picture.

You can donate to Chris’ “Mo” by either:

1. Clicking this link https://www.movember.com/uk/donate/donate-details.php?action=sponsorlink&rego=1886131&country=uk and donating online using your credit card or PayPal account, or

2. Writing a cheque payable to ‘The Prostate Cancer Charity Re: Movember’, referencing my Registration Number 1886131 and mailing it to:
