Sixth ScotlandIS annual awards honour Scotland’s digital stars

ScotlandIS, the trade body for the digital technologies industry, has announced the winners of the sixth annual Digital Technology Awards at a sell out ceremony at Glasgow’s Old Fruitmarket.

The highlight of the night, the awards for Digital Technology Business of the Year, were shared by four companies. The Large Digital Tech Business of the Year trophy went to Skyscanner. The Edinburgh headquartered travel search business was recognised for its continued innovation, development of new products and its exceptional worldwide expansion.

Scotland’s digital award entries up by half thanks to tech industry growth

ScotlandIS, the trade association championing the digital technologies industry, has released the shortlist for the hotly contested 2016 Digital Technology Awards.

The awards, now in their sixth year, celebrate the talent and ideas abundant in Scotland’s world-class digital technologies industry. This year the awards received a record number of entries, reflecting the health of the sector.

Scotland’s Digital Technology Oscars Open for Entries

The ScotlandIS Digital Technology Awards 2016 are now open for entries with a hat trick of new categories up for grabs.

A new ‘CEO of the year’ award has been introduced for 2016 to recognise the exceptional role played by CEO’s in delivering the vision, growth and profitability for their companies and their contribution to the Scottish economy.

Meanwhile, a new ‘Education provider/training programme’ gong will highlight and celebrate the work being done throughout Scotland to incubate the digital technology skills that the industry needs to continue growing. (more…)

Scotland’s Rising Tech Stars Recognised

Recognising a range of exciting Scottish companies pushing the boundaries in digital technologies, the 2014 Digital Technology Awards were announced yesterday. Contributing £4bn in GVA to the economy, some 80,000 people work in Scotland’s digital technologies industry, which is increasingly contributing to export revenues. The awards, organised by trade body ScotlandIS, feature nine categories.

The Best New Product or Service Award category was won by DeltaDNA, formerly Games Analytics. The judges considered their new product, revolutionising the way games publishers interact with their players, has significant global market potential.

StormID were awarded the Public Services Innovation Award for their ground-breaking “Council Toolkit” which allows local councils to rapidly and efficiently build responsive public services websites.

The Digital Agency of the Year Award went to Glasgow-based digital studio ScreenMedia, who impressed the judges for re-investing profits from a successful fitness app to develop their mobile technology and design prowess, building on an already remarkable client portfolio.
