As Victoria is the youngest cat and the most recent to join Hot Tin Roof we decided to ask her what makes Vickie tick?
Here’s what she said:
How did you end up working at Hot Tin Roof and how long have you been here?
I am the newest recruit at Hot Tin Roof, having only been with the company for 2 months. Hot Tin Roof had been on my radar for a while, so when I saw they were looking for an Account Executive, I was delighted and had to apply!
What is involved in an average day for you at the office?
This is quite a difficult question to answer because in PR the work is very varied. A day at the office can consist of anything from running around on Blackford Hill posing for a photo for a client, to writing a press release and pitching it to a journalist.
Lunchtime! What do you do and where do you do it?
At my old place of work, there weren’t many places to go for lunch nearby, so I got used to bringing my own lunch in. When starting at Hot Tin Roof, I decided I was going to keep this tradition going to save the pennies and keep healthy. But that doesn’t mean that I haven’t been on the occasional trip (or five!) to Pret a Manger on the days where my salad just won’t hit the spot!
If money was no object, what would you spend your day doing?
I really love to travel and there are still so many places I want to visit, so if money was no object, I would have to say a whirlwind round-the-world day trip. A pretty unrealistic day out, I know, but we are talking hypothetical here!
Did you have a nickname growing up?
‘Victoria’ doesn’t have that many nicknames but when I was growing up, the boys in my class all thought it was hilarious to call me ‘Victor’, which I can’t say I loved all that much!!
What was your favourite subject at school / Uni?
It would have to be history because it’s what I studied at University, even if it does mean that my brothers regularly refer to me as a ‘dusty old historian’! I am not ready to hit the books again any time soon, but I would like to go back and study further at some point.
What is your favourite thing about your job?
It has to be the diversity of the work but I do also really enjoy writing.
What is your favourite form of public transport?
It would have to be my legs (if that counts?!) I live in town so I walk everywhere which is great because it’s cheap. Unless we can include aeroplanes in this category?! In which case it would have to be a long haul flight to an exotic location with plenty of free wine and movies to keep me company!
